Multi-part archives need another check before any repair is attempted. All required parts should normally be present in the same folder and retain their original names. How to Use Repair and Partial Extraction Without Making Things Worse

How to Reduce the Risk of Archive Corruption in Future

After creating an important archive, test it before deleting or moving the source files. A successful archive creation message is useful, but an integrity test provides an additional check that the stored data can actually be read. For files that will be kept for months or years, retain at least one separate copy on another storage device or backup service. An archive is a convenient container, not a substitute for a backup. If the only copy of valuable data exists inside one ZIP or RAR file, a single storage failure can affect many files at once.
