How to use TeamViewer

Situations where remote access to a computer or to a network is needed are relatively rare. But in most cases, these situations are critical or close to critical. In such cases the software which allows remote access is of great importance. One of the best solutions is TeamViewer.

It is available both for commercial and private use. It can operate in two modes: Remote Control and Online Meeting. Each mode has its own specific functionality.

The remote control function is carried out using an individual TeamViewer ID and a temporary password, which can either be used in the version provided by the software, or by creating your own version.

TeamViewer is also installed on a partner computer, from which the ID of that machine is taken for subsequent remote operation.

The “Online meeting” option is available in two variants: for users holding such meetings and for users participating in meetings. Meetings can be held in presentation, video or audio conferencing format.

All meeting participants receive personal identifiers, which they enter in the corresponding connection boxes. The “Online meeting” option also offers the option of scheduling meetings, i.e. the software will gather all participants in the process on a certain day at a certain time.

Conducting online meetings via TeamViewer is a very good tool for people working collectively on a large-scale project. Online meetings in presentation mode, where text and graphical documents can be created together, are very good for such a case.

TeamViewer also offers a separate option for support engineers – a cloud-based support platform enabling engineers to be in constant contact with customers, and to do certain jobs quickly if needed.

TeamViewer can also be used to access a PC from a mobile device, if required. The software also has a Wake-on-LAN function. This allows access to various autonomously operating devices.
